Booking
We require a minimum of 5 paid visits to begin the onboarding process of new clients, payment due at the time of booking. Any unused visits will remain as a credit on the account for 12 months. First time clients must complete the Pet Care Request form prior to their free meet and greet consultation. Subsequent bookings can be requested through text or email. Reservations will be booked following confirmation from the sitter, and deposit (if applicable). Due to the exclusive nature of overnight reservations, we require a 20% deposit at the time of booking, and a 50% deposit for holiday reservations. All remaining payment is due by the start of service.
Cancellations
We understand that things can come up and plans may change. Please notify your sitter of any cancellations as soon as they arise.
- Overnight reservations: If canceled with 14+ days advanced notice, the deposit will be fully refunded. For cancellations with 7-13 days notice, the deposit will be applied as a credit towards future pet care needs, at the time of booking. If fewer than 7 days notice is given, no refund or credit will be applied.
- Holidays: a minimum of 14 days notice is required for your deposit to be refunded. If less notice is given, the deposit becomes non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Vacation pet care (daily care visits): may be canceled without charge with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Cancellations made 72-24 hours prior to the start of service will be charged the cost of the one visit. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the reservation will be charged full price for the first day of visits.
- Daily Mid-day walks: cancellation after the sitter is en route will be charged in full and no credit will be given.
Early Returns
Once we have scheduled and begun your pet sitting reservation, a fee will apply for cancellations due to early return because your sitter has set that time aside for your pet(s). In the event that you return home early, you will be charged 50% of the cost for any appointments scheduled within the following 24 hours. Any remaining balance for early return cancellations will be credited to your account for future pet care needs. No credits will be given for early returns on holiday or overnight reservations.
Keys
To care for your home and pets, your sitter requires their own key! We request that a key be provided to your sitter at the time of initial meet and greet. For key pick-up after initial consultation, an additional $8-10 trip fee will be applied, price to vary based on location. Our standard procedure is to keep spare keys on file for your future pet care needs, or should an emergency arise. Should the client wish to have their key returned after the reservation, a delivery fee will apply, or the key may be returned via certified mail.
Late Payment
Payment for walking or sitting services is due in full at the time of booking or on the first day that service begins. If payment is not received at the start of service, a $2 per day late fee may be added to your invoice.
Last Minute Requests
Only available to established clients! Same day requests for dog walks or potty breaks will be charged an additional $5 per visit. Availability cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs!
Holidays
For your convenience, Cait’s Creature Comfort offers pet care during all major holidays. A holiday surcharge of $5 per visit and $25 per overnight and “almost overnight” packages will apply for the following holidays: Easter, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving (including following weekend) and any visits between December 23rd to January 2nd. Due to high demand, holiday reservations require 50% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit at the time of booking.
Extra Time
Occasionally, your pets or home may require some extra attention. Unexpected events that prolong a visit by more than 10 minutes will incur additional charges. (Ex: extensive clean up due to damage or messes left by pets) $10 per 15 minutes
Frequency of Care
For the health and safety of your pets, we strongly recommend that dogs are visited three times daily, and cats/exotic pets visited at least once daily when booking consecutive days of pet care. Your sitter will schedule twice daily visits only for dogs with access to outdoors (via doggy door) however, with the clear understanding that if your sitter believes a dog’s health or safety to be at risk, the client shall allow Cait’s Creature Comfort to complete the visits on a 3x daily basis. Should this situation arise, you will first be notified of the dog’s health/safety status. In this event, the client shall reimburse Cait’s Creature Comfort for the additional visits required within 24 hours of their return. Dogs that are crated when unattended require a minimum of 3 daily visits, not including travel days. For health and safety concerns, we will not accept every-other-day visits for any type of pets. We believe all animals deserve to be visited at least once a day!
Shared Care
Cait’s Creature Comfort accepts full responsibility for your home and pets in your absence. To insure quality care for your pets, we cannot participate in split-care pet sitting arrangements where your animals receive care from multiple providers. An example of split-care would be: a neighbor or friend responsible for mid-day walks while Cait’s Creature Comfort is providing overnight care for multiple consecutive nights.
Shopping Trips
If your sitter must make a shopping trip to replenish pet food, cat litter, and/or other supplies, there will be a trip fee of $20 plus reimbursement for the cost of supplies.
Additional Mileage
Cait’s Creature Comfort currently provides pet care for animals up to 6 miles from our home office. This means we may not service all areas of your town. We currently cover most parts of the following neighborhoods: Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek, Felida, LakeShore, Mt. Vista, Baker & Barberton. Visits requiring travel in excess of 6 miles will be charged an additional $2-8 per visit depending on distance. Please fill out a Pet Care Request and we will confirm whether you are in our service area.
